 CONSTRUCTION LITIGATION
We represent many of Louisiana’s most successful construction companies in construction law matters. We have represented all facets of the construction industry, including, but not limited to, developers, owners, contractors, subcontractors, suppliers and lenders. The Firm has substantial experience litigating a variety of construction related claims, including contract disputes, construction defects, change orders, delays, disruptions and termination. We are experienced in asserting claims and liens pursuant to the Private Works Act, Public Works Act and Miller Act. Our construction project experience includes commercial projects, multi-unit and single family residential projects, and municipal projects including convention centers and roads. We have resolved construction disputes through mediation, arbitration, settlement, and trial in state and federal courts.
Recently, Kyle Schonekas and Patrick S. McGoey won a five day construction trial in Plaquemines Parish Court in a suit on behalf of Barriere Construction Company against Plaquemines Parish. The judgment was significant, given that we successfully recovered attorney fees pursuant to Louisiana’s Private Works Act.
