 HEALTH CARE LITIGATION
The scope of our health care practice is wide ranging. The Firm’s health care team is highly knowledgeable about the industry and the issues facing health care professionals. We have represented several physicians and physician groups in healthcare litigation concerning, among other things, anti-fraud and abuse, anti-kickback, and Stark Law. We also have represented one of the largest providers of contract therapy services to America’s premier hospitals, long-term care facilities and physician groups in a multi-million dollar arbitration.
Another prominent example is the firm’s representation of a physician in a suit against Mercy Hospital and several staff physicians for the unwarranted actions they took against him in a peer review process. The case was one of just a handful in the nation to get to trial on the issue of whether the defendants were entitled to immunity under the Health Care Quality Improvement Act.
