 INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY LITIGATION
The Firm’s intellectual property team advises clients on how to protect proprietary assets and vigorously defends clients’ assets. We have experience handling intellectual property cases, including trademark and copyright claims.
One prominent example is the Firm’s representation of the artist, George Rodrigue. We have represented Mr. Rodrigue in a formal copyright dispute concerning whether he was the sole owner of copyrights and trademarks arising from his Blue Dog artwork. We also have asserted state and federal copyright infringement cases for Mr. Rodrigue.
The Firm also recently successfully defended a software copyright infringement case before the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana and the United State Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals. The case,
SMAC v. Information Management Consultants and Associates,
Inc., resulted in a substantial attorney’s fee award in favor of our Firm’s client.
